Construction of RC Groundworks and RC Frames to Blocks P, Q, N1 and N2. External Works and hard landscaping to the Link Roads for the National Blood Service offices, Montrose Square and Colindale Station concourse works.

The Project scope comprised:

Substructure groundworks

• Deep drainage and district heating works
  
• Attenuation tanks, outfalls and head wall into local stream.
  
• Pile caps and ground beams
  
• Retaining walls and sheet piles for undercroft car parks
  
• New link road to the National Blood service while maintaining full access
  
• Station concourse works which included paving and bases for a metal frame while the station remained open.
  

Super structure works

• Under croft car parks to the 4 blocks
  
• Podium slabs with landscaped gardens of which Modebest did all the hard landscaping. This included timber planters and street furniture also.
  
• Concrete frames to all blocks: 7 storey (Block P), 7 storey (Block Q) and 9 storey (N1 and N2)
  

All works were carried out while maintaining full access to the National Blood Service. There were various coordination meetings to ensure the project ran successfully and on programme.

Overall the project ran smoothly and finished 3 weeks ahead of programme. Being the first job for Fairview New Homes a good relationship was formed with the site team.
